Free entry!Female prostitution is more visible and often featured as a topic in the media. The world of male hustlers – men that sell sex to other men – can only be found by those who know where to look. Already 30 years ago, the Swiss film director Simon Bischoff made the documentary “Er moretto” about the issue of male prostitution. But there have also been some new releases about the issue, such as the French feature “Elias” by Clément Badin.
Author Oliver Demont takes a closer look at Zurich, portraying hustlers and clients in his book “Buying men” (Salis-Verlag 2012) with photographs by the well-known photographer Walter Pfeiffer.
In a panel with Simon Bischoff, Clément Badin and Oliver Demont we will be exploring the question why male prostitution is so fascinating, and also the problems with which those who attempt to create a film or a book in this field are confronted, an area of conflict between discretion and voyeurism, between acceptance and taboo.
