HAVE A WONDERFUL FILM FESTVAL

When the Swiss Lesbian Organisation LOS was founded 25 years ago nobody would have dreamt that 17 years later the Swiss people would vote yes for civil partnership for same-sex couples.
25 years Swiss Lesbian Organisation LOS – we have come far, but there is still a long way to go. We can be proud of what we have achieved, what a whole generation of lesbians have created together with other organisations in little steps and big actions. But only when women of all ages no longer have to come out, because society no longer cares whether they are homo-, bi- or heterosexual, only then the LOS will no longer be needed.
But as long as there are states that implement inhuman laws against homosexuals, as long as lesbian couple are not permitted to fulfil their desire to have children with medical help, as long as newspapers only write about «gays» when they mean «lesbians and gays», we will still be vigorously working along towards a world of justice.
And as long as we have Pink Apple, the film festival with the many amazing, exciting, touching and unsettling lesbian films, we will be looking forward to seeing you in May in Zurich and Frauenfeld.

BE PROUD!

Today we fight for our diversity, our colours, our human rights and our differences, which inspire us every day to improve living together in our communities and societies. When words and politics fail we still have culture as an instrument to strengthen tolerance and open-mindedness in society. Pink culture as part of society in all its shades is so diverse that it should be carefully protected, cared for and supported. And this is exactly what Pink Apple Festival and its team do in celebrating and perpetuating our diversity. Today Pink Apple, one of the largest queer film festivals in Switzerland, and the LGBT community can be proud and happy to celebrate such an outstanding cultural happening. I invite all open-minded spirits to take part to live and celebrate our culture together.
I wish everyone who can come to the festival pride, happiness and exuberance.
