The human rights situation in Russia has been in the centre of the world press not only since Pussy Riot. We now would like to gain more information from direct sources about the every day life of lesbians and gays in Russia. We therefore have invited Gulya Sultanova and Manny de Guerre, two of the organisers of “bok o bok” (“side by side”), the LGBT film festival in St. Petersburg. The festival itself and also Gulya Sultanova as organiser have both been charged as “foreign spies”, but have been acquitted in the meantime.
