Lecture
Free entry!
A lecture with many film excerpts about how “The Simpsons” deal with homosexuality.
In his exceedingly entertaining lecture, Erwin In het Panhuis, author of the book “Behind the Gay Laughter – Homosexuality in “The Simpsons”, will look at the popular and much loved American comics series from a new side. “The Simpsons” convey a typically American but atypically open-minded image of gays and lesbians to millions of people. Despite falling back on clichés, “The Simpsons” usually handle homosexuality intelligently, playfully and with fairness. This lecture will present new information even to die-hard fans of “The Simpsons”: because who already knew that the first kiss between two men on US TV was in “The Simpsons”?
This lecture is held in German only.
