Panel discussion
Why do young gays and lesbians more often experience suicidal feelings than their heterosexual contemporaries? Why is it still so difficult for young homosexuals to disclose their sexuality? What steps must be taken to improve protection and support for gays, lesbians and bisexuals?
A panel including the following professionals from various counselling institutions for bi- and homosexuals will look for answers:
Sandra Kaufmann, psychologist and head of the Lesbian Counselling Centre at HAZ (Homosexuelle Arbeitsgruppen Zürich).
Adrian Möri, social education worker and head of Rainbowline, a helpline for LGBT counselling and reporting homophobic abuse.
Michael Häusermann, commissioner for homophobia at Dialogai (Geneva) and co-author of the recent study “Suicidality and Sexual Orientation Among Men in Switzerland”.
Patrick Weber, project leader for prevention at “Du bist Du” (“You are You”), a counselling platform by Jungs für Jungs.
